Subhan Law Office, LLC, has been invited to present at the 1st Annual Forum on Latino/a Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Attorney Ili J. Subhan will be presenting on immigration options for students. He will also be discussing the Dream Act and President Obama’s immigration policies including Deferred Action For Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
The 1st Annual Forum on Latino/a Affairs will be held on Saturday April 12, 2014, from 8:30am to 5:00pm at the UWM Union Ballroom. Attorney Subhan will be presenting from 10:55am to 11:40am. The Forum is a meeting place for Milwaukee’s community members to discuss issues pertinent to the Latino community in an attempt to understand their impact and identify possible solutions. This year’s forum will focus on health & education.
The conference is divided into 6 sub-topics in health and education including:
1.) Affordable Care Act
2.) Competent and bilingual provision of health and mental health care
3.) Lack of access and disparities in health and mental health
4.) Educational expectations for Latino students
5.) Increasing awareness of educational options for Latino students
6.) The Dream Act
