Overview of Family Based Immigration
Family based immigration is becoming a U.S. permanent resident through certain family relations. Family based immigration assists U.S. citizens and U.S. legal permanent residents with reuniting with relatives. Family based immigrant petitions are filed by either U.S. citizens or permanent residents. The U.S. citizen or permanent resident is called the “sponsor” and the petition is filed on behalf of the foreign national relative who is called the “beneficiary”. There are two groups of family based immigrant visa categories, including “immediate relatives” and “family preference categories.” We will advise you on U.S. family based immigration rules and regulations to assist you in reuniting with your relative or relatives.

You will need a fiance visa if you are a U.S. citizen who wants to bring your fiancé to the U.S. to get married. For you and your fiancé, getting your K-1 fiance visa is an important first step in starting the rest of your life together.
You need a marriage visa, if you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the U.S. (also known as a green card holder), and your spouse is not. A Marriage Based Green Card allows your spouse and your spouse’s children, if any, to become legal permanent residents of the U.S.
You need a family-based visa if you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident and your immediate family and or relatives are not. A family based green card allows you to bring certain immediate family members to the U.S. as permanent legal residents (also known as green card holders).
HERE’S WHAT ARE CLIENTS ARE SAYING ABOUT US
Outstanding job with helping me acquire my Green Card! With the tremendous help and outstanding legal representation from Attorney Subhan, I was able to acquire my Green Card status within a very short time frame without any issues. Not only was Attorney Subhan always a phone call away whenever we had questions regarding the immigration process, but he was also willing to meet in his office to provide any needed legal advice relating to my application. To top it all off, Attorney Subhan was also present during my big interview with the immigration officer, which I must say was a big help. Attorney Subhan’s diligence, honesty and thoroughness are key attributes that I believe every client should look for in an immigration attorney and I will highly recommend his services to anyone who needs immigration legal advice or representation.
